2021 saw the first ever Manchester Adult Education and Skills awards ceremony, celebrating learners, practitioners and employers from across the Adult Education landscape, for their dedication, achievement, and successes over the past 12 months of a very difficult year.
One such winner on the big night, was none other than Yes Digital Champion Volunteer Karen Blakeley, who scooped up the prestigious Volunteer of the year award!
Karen, a Digital Champion volunteer with Yes for over 5 years, used her experience as an ICT tutor to help countless people to build their digital skills and improve their lives, and went above and beyond this past year helping learners to develop their digital skills throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Digital Champions Coordinator Marika, who nominated Karen for this year’s awards had this to say:
“Karen, you may not realize this but you are the real-life superwoman in the lives of all those you have helped. Well done, and we can’t thank you enough”
A huge congratulations and well done to Karen from everyone at Yes!
