The couple who said YES!
Noureddine, 60, and his wife, Karima, 51, came to YES after Noureddine lost his job of four years.
Karima had been working as a Domestic Assistant within the NHS but wanted a full-time position so she could get more money and improve the family’s financial situation.
At YES, Noureddine was told he would be entitled to Universal Credit because he was now out of work. It meant Noureddine and Karima could alleviate some financial woes while both were looking for new roles.
Colleagues at the centre developed tailored action plans to address their specific needs, supporting with updating their CVs, improving their digital skills and navigating online job searches.
Several interviews followed for Karima, but Noureddine felt downbeat and despondent at the lack of progress for his own situation.
So, the YES team set about helping him further. They focused on his applications more and encouraged him to complete his Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
Karina, meanwhile, was still trying with interviews. The team at YES worked on interview techniques which significantly boosted her confidence, and she was thrilled to learn she had been chosen for the second stage of a full-time position within the NHS.
Noureddine was finally making solid progress too, being told he had been chosen for an interview at Manchester Airport for a cleaning and driving role. As ever, YES stepped up and provided support to both Karima and Noureddine.
The remarkable outcome? BOTH secured their permanent, full-time roles and BOTH did so on the same day: 10 October 2024.
