Over time, Michelle became a familiar face at our centre. Her determination and warmth stood out, and she eventually secured a full-time role as a support worker with Vestacare. It was the perfect fit — a role that allowed her natural compassion to shine.

Amaka’s journey is another inspiring example. She first came to YES Manchester looking for voluntary work opportunities while studying Health and Social Care at Global Banking School, and she began volunteering with YES. Through her time with us — both as a customer and a volunteer — she took part in a range of tailored activities designed to build confidence and develop essential skills.
Amaka received one-to-one support with job searching, including how to identify suitable roles in the healthcare sector, register on relevant job websites, and update her CV to reflect her latest experience and qualifications. She also received help drafting a professional cover letter tailored to specific roles.
Her hard work paid off. Amaka has now also secured a full-time job as a support worker with Vestacare.
