Yes is working with a range of employers across North Manchester to provide personalised work experience opportunities for local people looking to get into work.
Targeted at people who are unemployed, the programme will look at the skills, knowledge and experience they have, and those that they need, and tailor the opportunity. For instance, if its confidence you need, maybe a day a week over a few weeks would be best for you, but if you’ve been working more recently and want to try out a new direction, then something more intensive would be appropriate.
The programme has been made possible thanks to MCC’s Work Club extension funding.
“Unemployed people sometimes need an opportunity to prove to themselves that they can work and that they have skills that are marketable,” said Ike Obi, Employability Support Manager, “and this programme lets them do that in a way that suits them.”
