Yes Manchester’s journey to independence was finally completed yesterday, 16 November 2021, when the Charity Commission confirmed our conversion from a Community Interest Company to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation – a CIO – and gave us the charity registration number 1196593.
Over the past year we have been moving toward this goal, which will allow us to support many more unemployed and underemployed people, pursuing our newly confirmed ‘charitable objects’ of relieving unemployment and relieving poverty. Being a charity will enable us to release monies currently committed to tax, rates and other ‘corporate’ bills as well providing access to more funding sources.
The whole team at Yes have worked amazingly hard to get to this point, and we are so, so proud of each one of them.
It’s the start of a new chapter for Yes Manchester, which will see us expanding our offer across the whole of North Manchester and increasing the services available.
