Yes Manchester CIO Development Officer

Yes Manchester | Manchester

Yes, Manchester helps people and families become financially independent.

We are an award-winning charity, established as a CIC 9 years ago to help north Manchester residents to gain employment, to volunteer, to access learning opportunities, to improve their digital skills, and to achieve their ambitions.

We exist to relieve unemployment and poverty, and provide supportive, whole-person information, advice, and guidance for unemployed and under-employed individuals in north-Manchester.  We define under-employed as someone with a job, but still reliant on benefits.

Our main office is in Newton Heath, Manchester – an area of the city that has long experienced disadvantage – and we have an office in Collyhurst too.  We also deliver outreach in other neighbourhoods across north Manchester.  We are a small team; we are passionate about our work, and we enjoy working together.  The charity is committed to developing every colleague, as well as our customers.

To support the next stage of our transition to CIO we need a Development Officer to help us grow our employer support base and our income from institutional funders, and to help market and promote our services.

You might have experience in a sales or income focused role, but this isn’t essential.  Most importantly, you will be a talented communicator, both written and verbal, a thorough researcher, and have good interpersonal skills too.  You will have an empathy with our values of being ‘always positive, community focused and person-centred’ and be committed to our vision of ‘building confidence, driving ambition and inspiring people to be the best that they can be’. You’ll want to learn and grow in your new role, and to make a real difference to our communities, and to the organisation.
