This role is ideal for someone who wants to gain experience in working with LGBTQ+ young people as well as working in advice and guidance or with a digital advice service. Anyone thinking of a career in non-profit, either in a support role or working directly with young people, this role would give you the perfect opportunity to learn more .

Key tasks

The main tasks for the role of Digital Services assistant are:

  • assisting with live chat service by working with the Digital Services Manager to compile rotas and monitor data
  • completing administration tasks such as emailing out documents and surveys, booking training and updating spreadsheets
  • assisting caseworkers to arrange support packs for young people
  • creating content for the online resource hub including collating information on services for LGBTQ+ young people across the UK
  • promoting the Digital Service to LGBTQ+/youth/homelessness organisations across the UK
  • working with Services staff on updating our Client Management System, Inform, and undertake tasks as directed by our Inform lead

You will develop your administration skills in a social care environment. You will also gain experience in working with LGBTQ+ young people via digital communications. The role will involve using Microsoft Office packages so you will be able to use your existing skills and develop new ones. You will gain a rounded experience of working with our caseworkers and with young people.

Whilst Akt are not looking for any specific qualifications or work experience, they will be looking for evidence of the following in your application:

  • an interest in social care, youth work, social issues such as homelessness and LGBTQ+ rights, and/or working in the non-profit sector
  • good written and verbal communications skills
  • good digital skills
  • willingness and ability to learn and develop new skills
  • ability to work well both as part of a team and autonomously
  • some understanding of Microsoft office 365 (eg. word, excel and PowerPoint)
  • experience of working with young people or lgbtq+ people (desirable but not essential)

Wage:

£9.90 per hour
